Weekend of May 19 and 20

Conditions look great for the coming weekend with the river level nice and getting very clear. Water temps are in the mid 60′s. Riversedge will run canoe kayak and raft trips every hour on the hour Saturday 9-4 and Sunday10-4. We are also open today (Thursday the 17th) and Friday the 18th with trips 10-4. Hope to see you out on the beautiful Little Miami River this weekend!

Open for Canoe Kayak and Raft Trips on the Little Miami River

With the warm weather and the beginning of May we will be open and running canoe, kayak and raft trips most good weather weekdays. Weekend hours for the month of May – trips depart every hour on the hour from 10 am to 4pm both Saturday and Sunday. It is still a good idea to call 937-903-6468 before you leave home on a weekday so that we can be sure to be at the office when you arrive and not on the mower. By the end of this week the temperature of the river should be in the mid 60′s and a more comfortable temp to get wet if you choose. Open for canoe kayak and raft trips on Saturday April 14 and Sunday April 15

RiversEdge Outfitters will be open for canoe kayak and raft trips tomorrow, Sat the 14th and Sun the 15th from 10 am to 3 pm with trips running every hour on the hour. River conditions are excellent with clear water that is lower than normal for the month of April. The water temperature is also lower and will only be in the mid 50′s for the weekend. While it will be a great weekend to get out on the River please keep in mind that if you are concerned about cold water waiting a couple of weeks will allow the River to warm up. Due to the colder water temps we will restrict children under 12 to rafts only. Hope to see you out on the River this weekend!

OPEN for the 2012 SEASON

RiversEdge will be open for canoe, kayak and raft rips on the Little Miami River most good weather days from this point on. Good weather days require at least 65 degrees temp, and not much chance of rain. Since we will be busy with many maintenance jobs we are not always near the office. Trips can be arranged by calling ahead and letting us know you are coming out, even the morning of, most of the time. It is always good to call 937-903-6468 (Rhett’s cell) before coming out. Starting today Tuesday March 20 we will be open for canoe, kayak and raft trips on the Little Miami River. We will be open with limited hours the next three days and it is highly recommended to call ahead before coming out, as we will not always be at the office. Canoe and Kayak trip info for Spring 2012 at RiversEdge Outfitters

We are busy preparing for the possible early opening for canoe, kayak and raft trips on the Little Miami River. The River currently is is great shape as far as navigability. We have made numerous trips down the river removing trees that accumulate during the high water events over the winter. Barring any new trees added to the main channel we will be finished this week and ready to open for 2012. While we do not usually open until mid April, if the warm weather holds out for the remainder of March we could be open as soon as late March! We will post a blog the week prior to our opening. End of 2011 paddling season

Another great season on the Little Miami River has come to a close. We are busy with maintenance and stowing away all the gear. We have also recently attended the Professional Paddlesport Association conference where we purchased new canoes, kayaks and pfd’s for next season. We look forward to 2012 and seeing all of you on the River!

Due to the near perfect weather conditions and excellent river level we will be open both days and run trips every hour on the hour from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Water is clear to about 2-3 feet and the leaves are starting to turn so it might be the last chance for a great trip down the beautiful Little Miami River. Hope to see you on the River!

Fall on the Little Miami

With the recent rains we are experiencing great water levels for fall canoe, kayak or raft trips. The leaves are just starting to turn and our resident bald eagle has been spotted several times last weekend by paddlers. Those who make it out this Fall will be surprised how few people are on the river, many times you have it all to yourself!
