Sorry i missed this question until just now. You are at the very upper end of total weight for a canoe. I think one of small rafts would work great and you would not have the potential problem of the canoe turning over repeatedly. Hope this helps.

While we usually do not allow dogs in the vehicles do to insurance restrictions and some non dog loving customers who may be in the vehicle, if you have a small dog which can be held while in the van or bus it would probably be OK.

About 5-6 adults of moderate weight can fit in a raft, a few more if most are children.
