Our facilities

Rivers Edge Outfitters is located on 45 acres of beautiful riverfront property along one of the least crowded and most secluded sections of the Federal and State Designated Scenic Little Miami River. Rivers Edge Outfitters is conveniently located just 30 minutes from Dayton, 45 minutes from Cincinnati and a quick one hour drive from Columbus. We are between Bellbrook and Waynesville on U.S. Route 42 – just look for our sign – you can’t miss it – there’s a canoe on top!  We have clean, modern facilities with plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, changing rooms, and snacks and souvenirs for purchase. Our crew is the best on the Little Miami River, highly trained and dedicated to making sure you have a safe, fun day on the river.  Our trips start at RiversEdge Outfitters where you will ride one of our shuttle buses upstream to your starting point and then float back downstream to RiversEdge where our team will be waiting for you.  Feel free to use our changing rooms and our picnic shelters afterward.

Rhett and Brandy Rohrer have owned and operated RiversEdge Outfitters since 1984. Our whole family is involved in canoeing and kayaking as a business and as a lifelong family activity. Rhett has shown a commitment to the outfitting business as a profession and to preserving the river as a resource. He is a past board member of the Professional Paddlesports Association, a sitting trustee of Little Miami Conservancy, and a 25 year member of The Little Miami Scenic River Advisory Council. Brandy has a Engineering degree from the University of Dayton and currently works full time as a Practice Manager.   Brandy provides Rivers Edge with computer and marketing expertise. Sarah is 21 and has been kayaking and canoeing since she was three years old.  She is our Office Manager and helps her Dad with many things related to the business, including how to use his phone! At 14, Kate will be kayaking on her own for about the eighth year, and helps out wherever she can, including working in the office. Our business philosophy is pretty simple: to offer the best equipment, the most professional and courteous service and the finest riverfront facilities available on the Little Miami River. After 30 years we feel that we are accomplishing this goal, and invite you to experience the beautiful Little Miami River with us.

The Little Miami River is a State and National Scenic River.  It is truly unique in our region as well as a national treasure.

When floating down the Little Miami, you’ll not only get a chance to unwind and have some fun, you’ll also get to travel back in time.  Thanks to conservation efforts lead by groups like the Little Miami Conservancy, the river is quite similar to the way it was hundreds of years ago.

It is truly a special place, which is why we encourage our visitors to live up to the saying “Leave No Trace.”  If you would like to be a part of protecting the Little Miami, volunteer with our friends at the Little Miami Conservancy.
